Glycerol

Glycerol (also known as Glycerin) is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting viscous liquid. It is fully miscible with water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in chloroform, ether, carbon tetrachloride, carbon disulfide, petroleum ether, and oils. Glycerol is stable at room temperature but hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air.
